ASI Works

These are event marketing materials I have made for CSUF’s Associated Students Inc. I worked alongside a team of designers and illustrators to create designs for ASI hosted events on campus, Student Recreation Center events, and the Children’s Center. This includes making displays, flyers, handbills, social media posts and stories, tv displays, and website graphics for each design unless specified otherwise.

Overview of all ASI Work

Each month the Grand Stair Studio has a different theme for their art workshops, and for April they wanted poppies and a California postcard look. I used the inspiration they provided to create this design and then translated it to different formats!

April Art Workshops

For this event, the programming team wanted the poster to be inspired by Halloweentown, specifically with the giant pumpkin. They also wanted stickers for the event so I used elements from the poster to create stickers. The picture frame stickers are inspired by the stretching room portraits from the Haunted Mansion.

Pumpkin Patch

One of my last jobs at ASI was a hiring post for the SRC! I wanted to use vibrant colors that mimic the fun of summer. The only request from the client was to have a photo of an enthusiastic athletic person. I found this stock photo on Envato and then used a gradient map in Photoshop to match the colors of my design.

SRC Summer Hiring

For this concert at the Becker the artist was only confirmed the week before the event, so I had to work fast so we could promote the event. I edited the colors of the photo to match the colors of the poster and added the wave illustrations since their logo has waves. Since they’re a rock band with a grunge vibe I added in paper texture to add depth.

These are some projects I have done for the Student Recreation Center following their branding guidelines made by our design lead. Key points for SRC’s branding include: custom headlines to be tight and interlocking, grayscale photos with a shadow shape, vibrant colors, and specific information in the same location (“At the SRC” under the headline, social media information at the bottom…).

SRC Projects

For this design, the client didn’t have a particular style or look in mind, they just wanted the event purpose to be clear and inviting. I enjoyed working with the zig zag effect and different stylizations to create unique shapes to pull attention to the main points.

Events Open House

This was a reoccurring concert event featuring CSUF’s Jazz Band. The inspiration I was given was a simple blocky jazz poster. I wanted to include a musician and the sheet music in my design which led me to this layout. I even decided to make the notes on the staff an actual song as an easter egg for any musicians that would see my work which was fun.
