Never Been Kissed Poster
I created a movie poster for the film Never Been Kissed, a 1999 rom-com starring Drew Barrymore. I got photo assets from my professor, which included many fun shots of Barrymore I knew I wanted to use. I came up with 5 different concepts based off the personality of the photos, with the intention of having Barrymore as the star. I also remade the billing block and title in Illustrator.

Sketches
One goal with the project was to explore different types of grids, so I made five sketches using the rule of thirds, golden ratio, and ______. I went with my first sketch, but ended up simplifying it more by removing the lipstick idea.
Progression
The layout of my key art changed slightly from sketch to finish. During my first critique, I got feedback that the lipstick didn’t feel like it had a purpose and did not make sense. My professor also suggested rearranging the billing block and moving the type so that the composition read more clearly.
